as there seems to be yet more and more browsers surfacing on people's desktops, tell us what you use and why.
I'll start the ball rolling:
Work - Firefox with various addons (noscript, add block and IE tabs). This is used for most of my browsing as it is nice and quick, the tab browsing works really well and the addons that are available really add to it. I also run IE7 as it is company standard.
Home - Firefox again for the above reasons as well as Safari. I'm just starting to try Safari out in real life so we'll see how that goes.
Other - I've also got Google Chrome installed for testing purposes but I don't think I'll be keeping it for long, I'm afraid.
so how about you guys?

My primary browser is IE7 but the reasons for this vary
1. Security - I have still to be convinced that Firefox is more secure than a fully patched version of IE running on a fully patched copy of Vista or XP
2. At work there are some sites that will not work on anything else
3. It is still the defacto browser and a lot of sites are still written for IE
But I do tend to keep a copy of Portable Firefox to hand because I refuse to install the Sun Java VM onto any of my Windows desktops and FF has this built in. Sure I have an install package (don't tell Microsoft) for the Microsoft JVM but sometimes only the Sun runtime will do.
And I have been playing with Chrome and like it but am very aware that it is still an early beta and there are going to be security issues in the early days. As such, I am more than happy to use it when posting here etc but would never use it to get to my online banking or online shopping.

I was using FireFox up until about 3 months ago. I've switched over to IE7 since it is easier to integrate with my new Outlook version.
However, I do still have FF installed. Only time I use it is to check for updates every two weeks or so.

Currently I use Firefox 3.0.3 because of the NoScript availability...talk about browsing without advertisements! Interestingly enough, I went on my brother's PC the other day and was annoyed by how many ad's there are online without using NoScript.
I have also beta-tested the new IE8. I really like the new domain highlighting feature which I believe will help reduce phishing and the look of the browser as well.

I am using Firefox for its addons and Safari for compatibility with some web apps (come one webex sort you FF support out).

Using FF 3 and IE 7 @ work ... IE just for work, FF for surfing.
@ home, just FF, though i'm planning to try out other browsers (flock, opera, safari etc.) ... just for the fun of it (and for my college project!)
still thinkin that FF is the best, concerning pop-ups and addons.

Yet another reason why using Firefox (with NoScript) is highly recommended.

hi everyone
i have been using Mozilla Firefox for the past couple of years and i am very satisfied with it.... i think in current scenario it is the best web browser available.....
my next preferences are Internet Explorer and Google Chrome

Really? Wow. You must not have been paying very close attention to the last 12 years of IE and Outlook.
Incidentally, did you really mean the logical implication contained in your sentence that you need a fully patched IE with the latest and fully patched OS to even begin to compare it to a decent browser like Firefox and others? How ironically funny... even if it still flatters IE.
Joking aside, the question was about browser choice... patching and securing the OS is a completely separate concern, important independently of which browser you choose. You want a stable and secure OS regardless of whether you're using Firefox, IE or Minesweeper.

anyways i prefer firefox because its opensource. free to tweak and good addons like noscript or broadband speed testing.
IE has more exploits then any browser.
chrome is good but i dont trust the google invasion of privacy.
safari is also good but i didnt like the speed of it lol

I use firefox, but on the verge of switching to chrome as it's so far.
I noticed the firefox 4 beta is very similar to google chrome for some reason.
I hate that google chrome [and firefox 4] has hidden the bookmarks menu, although I hardly ever use the bookmarks, I'd like to have it visible above the address bar where I'm used to it.

I use Google Chrome since it handles scripting much faster and smoother than IE. I feel like it has more adjustable settings than FireFox.

Mostly home/everywhere I go is Safari. Work is Firefox. It seems like for most people, Firefox is best at work. But I mainly prefer Safari the whole time, except when it crashes, ha.

I am using Firefox. It is a user friendly browser with many options. I always prefer Firefox.
