Run lavasofts ad-ware adn also download Microsoft's windows defender and see if anything comes up.

For Anti-Virus you can run AVG Free edition which seems to run great.
Also you can look into Trand House call which is a free online Scan.

You may also want to check and be shure that your mouse kkey isn;t sssssssticking. Or the enter key if you use that.

I did have to throw away a mouse that started doing that.

It could be something as simple as that as well as the aforemenntioned causes.

Why do you say that? I have not heard much about it & am curious why you say it's a bad choice.

Window Defender and Microsoft OneCare are two different products. The failure of one doesn't necessary imply that the other is bad as well.

yes but Defender and OneCare both peform equally badly. To quote an article on Yahoo entitled "Microsoft's OneCare Finishes Last in Antivirus Test"

Quote:

This is not the only test that has found Microsoft's security software coming up short. In another test, Microsoft's antispyware tool, Windows Defender, also fared poorly. Australian security company PC Tools -- which makes and sells its own antispyware product -- found Windows Defender to detect only between 46 percent and 53 percent of the spyware thrown at it.

With not wanting to like MS bashing - that is pretty poor.

I draw my opinion from real world experience too. Machines running just defender show up infected here all the time. Now that Ewido sold out to Grisoft, I've been testing and using the AVG Antispyware software which works as good as any other malware tool.

I got rid of my malware problem by installing McAfee Total protection beta version. ( Beta versions are my favorite..lol)
