|
|
The forum ranks have recently been revised, with post level not necessarily being an indication of knowledge and more based on time, the ranks now reflect this:
In the form:
Rankname - Number Of Posts Needed To Achieve Rank
Just Arrived 0
Lurker 10
New Member 20
Regular Member 50
Frequent Member 100
Forum Addict 250
Forum Junky 500
Forum Fanatic 1000
So if you have recently noticed your rank change there is no need to worry

Haha yeh i just noticed that i was like :\
Then i looked back on the recent topics page and saw this thread
I agree on the idea that time spent here does not reflect your knowledge. Did this come apon from reading the Poll thread before about time using computers with skill level next to it ?

Go on the Regular member!!!
Do some people get realy emotional about their ranks?
Isnt it just a guideline as to your level of knowledge so that others can see and make their own judgement about how reliable your advice is?

No, post count is on of the worst indicators of knowledge or ability. IMHO
Cheers,

Once you get alot of posts with good info in them, and you show yourself to be helpful to the forum, then we start looking at advancing that member to 'trusted source'. Anybody with that moniker has proven their abilities to our elite panel of judges - or bribed us with an appropriate amount of beer..
It was confusing new members before, since some people had the title of uber guru, etc.. but really were newbies as far as technical expertise.
