Check out Netops Stronghold for SNMP scanning - its probably the fastest out there. I once put up 5 concurrent sessions and scanned a 16M address range in one night! Scan your network & you'll find any device running SNMP & then you can check to see if passwords are secure.
It's amazing how many routers & switches are out there & even more amazing to see how many are not secure.
In case you don't know - common devices running snmp out of the box are: routers (many ISP's), DSL & ATM frames, switches, WAP's & base stations, VOIP rigs, WinNT, Cable Modems, DSL modems, firewalls, oh, the list goes on...

Some apps are netstumbler, aerosol and snort.

A basic doc on how to secure, of course shows what to look for to get in http://www.geocities.com/insecurepc/wiredhowto.doc

Search on "warchalking" will show you what symbols to look for and what they mean.

Hope this is of some help,

Hi Hugh, I don't think people are much interesting in the SNMP devices on the network when they are war-driving/war-walking they are just looking for free Internet access to do the dirty elsewhere..

Netstumbler and Airsnort are the big boys..
