    ----
Hi All,

We have a machine (run by an xp cpu) that regularly needs jpg files loaded onto it, and in order to load them we have literally jumpdrived them across for the last four years. This is about a 5 minute walk from one end of our lot to the other.

I finally convinced my boss to allow me to hook up the xp cpu that controls this machine to our network. I need to make sure the security specifically to this xp cpu is super snug or my job could be toast. The goal is to have ONLY jpg files transmitted from my computer to the xp machine and lock anything and everyone else out.

So would anyone mind double checking my setup here?

1. The XP cpu has one folder shared with the network. In the sharing permissions one username (with very secure password) has permissions to be in there.

2. HTTP port is blocked via the router so no one can browse the internet from the xp machine, preventing possible d/ling of viruses spyware etc.

3. Windows firewall is set to block all traffic except for file & printer sharing

4. File & Printer sharing is set to only accept communications from my computer's IP address.

5. My computer's IP address is static.

6. My computer has a secure password & username and is locked down.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Just to add it looks like I can ping the xp cpu from my computer. Is that a problem?
