My question revolves around the exit nodes. If a person on the east coast of the united states is making a http request to a web server in california, would it make much sense to have their exit node by in europe? I assume this would tack on some unneeded latency.
I have read on the volunteers page that they wish to add a mechanism to specify which exit node to use based on country. I think a natural progression of this would be to choose an exit node by the location of the site you are accessing.
This is just a quick curiosity that I had, so im sure it is riddled with holes. I just wanted to clarify if the routing took the destination into account.
