Hello everyone, I have concerns about webcam security. I have been reading articles and trying to find a software which would increase the webcam security, because I read that intruding the video stream can happen by sniffing the packets while I'm uploading it to my partner.

I wonder if there is any program can be used to add encryption to this stream in order to prevent any hacking?

I am aware that the software should be on both ends, correct me if I'm wrong please.

Or shouldn't I worry at all? Because I also read to achieve such a sniffing procedure the hacker must have a Trojan in my computer.

Any help or direction will be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Hourani.

You don't give very much information about what are you doing. If you are communicating using video in real time with your partner over the Internet, then it would be possible for someone to sniff the traffic, but unlikely. If you live in a building with a shared Internet connection with the other residents then there is some risk, depending on how it is set up.
If you are worried about it, Skype allows voice and video messaging and it encrypts the data stream.

@benfts
There are still security implications with this system. Is the provider on-premise equipment secure?
