I am studying the security exam. I am a bit confused about viruses. I understand that polymorphic viruses changes their signature when infect a file every time, I think metamorphic viruses do same thing. I could not find the differences among them. Could you please help me about this differences?

"The main difference between metamorphic and polymorphic viruses is the fact that a polymorphic virus ciphers its original code to avoid pattern recognition, and a metamorphic virus changes its code to an equivalent one (i.e. the codes do essentially the same thing)."

Taken from the metamorphic code wikipedia entry
